"It's the Banana Splits Club with the adventures of: -

DANGER ISLAND

HILLBILLY BEAR (sic)

and starring: -

THE BANANA SPLITS"

(Note: This brief script is for the voice-over announcement--read by Allan Melvin--over the Season 2 opening titles. The scripts indicate that at one point, the show was to be retitled "The Banana Splits Club;" however, in the end the series retained its original title, "The Banana Splits Adventure Hour.")

"Now here come the Banana Splits."

The Splits make their individual entrances on bikes, pogo sticks, rope swing etc. As they do, the Announcer calls their name and they each in turn respond:

ANNCR.

"Drooper"

DROOPER

"Right here"

ANNCR.

"Fleegle"

FLEEGLE

"Yes-Sir-ee"

ANNCR.

"Bingo"

BINGO

"Here I am"

ANNCR.

"Snorky"

SNORKY

"(Sound) HONK...HONK..."

"And it's Banana Splits Club Time."

MARCH MUSIC

(WE'RE THE BANANA SPLITS)

Enter the Splits in marching formation. led by Fleegle who holds a gavel in his hand. Fleegle continues on to his podium while the rest fall out of step, bump into each other, and trip over furniture and props.

FLEEGLE

Raps his gavel

"Stop the music."

MUSIC SLOWS TO STOP (Turntable is turned off)

"The meeting of the Banana Splits Club will now come to order."

(Note: The above was repeated to begin all 13 "Club Opening" segments, and each would continue on from here with new material unique to each individual segment.)

FLEEGLE

Raps gavel.

"Drooper, please read rule 324 from the Banana Splits code of conduct book."

DROOPER

Rises and reads from large book.

"Rule 324 says that members of the Banana Splits Club should never squeeze bananas....dance backwards...or fall out of chairs....thank you.

Drooper sits down, misses chair and falls to floor.

FLEEGLE

Raps gavel.

"It's hopeless...absolutely hopeless...Bingo...please read the minutes of the last meeting."

BINGO

Rises and reads from ledger.

"The meeting of the Banana Splits Club was called to order and......."

FLEEGLE

"Go on Bingo....Go on."

BINGO

"That's all I have."

FLEEGLE

"Why?"

BINGO

"That's when my pencil broke."

FLEEGLE

"You're out of order."

Fleegle raps his gavel and everyone bounces up and down in their place.

FLEEGLE

"And now the secret pass word of the week is...."

He looks carefully about him apprehensively and then cups hands to his mouth...and mouths word silently.

DROOPER AND BINGO TOGETHER

"What did you say???"

Fleegle mouths word again silently.

DROOPER AND BINGO TOGETHER

"What?"

FLEEGLE (Shouting)

"I said Beachball."

A number of beachballs are thrown at Fleegle from all sides.

BLACKOUT
